following serious of images and text describes the process that John goes
through as he creates his Raku Tidal Plates. You can select on each image

1)
Cool pre-glazed Tidal plates waiting to be placed in the kiln.

2)
Placing cold Tidal plate in hot kiln. Turn on the burner, within 20 minutes
the kiln temperature is 1825* to 1850* degrees.

3)
Picking up fired pot @1850* from the kiln with a pair of tongs.
|
4)
Removing plate from kiln.
|
5)
Waving hot plate in wind for a few minutes to aid in color development.
|
6)
Placing hot plate in reduction container, which is filled with hay - it
of course catches fire.

7)
Placing lid filled with more hay on the container and stopping oxygen
from entering.
|
8)
After 10 to 20 minutes remove plate from reduction container.
|
9)
Spraying water on the hot plate, after removal from reduction container.
